Pakistan’s EV Market Gains Momentum with Bestway–Geely Partnership

Bestway Group has announced a strategic partnership with China's Geely Auto Group to introduce electric and hybrid vehicles in Pakistan, marking the group's official entry into the country's automotive industry. The collaboration represents another milestone in Pakistan-China industrial cooperation and supports the growing shift toward sustainable transportation and advanced vehicle technology.

Under the agreement, Bestway Automotive (Private) Limited will serve as the exclusive authorised distributor of Geely Auto products in Pakistan. During the initial phase, Geely vehicles will be imported as completely built units (CBUs), enabling Pakistani consumers to access the brand's latest models before local production begins at Bestway's automotive assembly facility in Karachi.

The partnership agreement was signed at Geely Auto Group's headquarters in Hangzhou, China, reflecting the companies' long-term commitment to expanding their presence in Pakistan's automotive market. Future plans include increasing local manufacturing, strengthening the domestic automotive supply chain, promoting workforce skills development and creating new employment opportunities across the sector.

Among the first models planned for launch are the Geely EX5 all-electric SUV, the Geely EX2, recognized as China's best-selling passenger vehicle in 2025, and the Geely Starray EM-i plug-in hybrid SUV, which holds the Guinness World Record for the lowest fuel consumption in its category. The collaboration is expected to contribute to Pakistan's transition toward cleaner mobility while encouraging technology transfer, industrial growth and greater investment in the country's automotive ecosystem.
