Strengthening Ties: Zardari Supports Pakistan–China Business Chamber Proposal

President Asif Ali Zardari, accompanied by First Lady Aseefa Bhutto Zardari and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, paid a visit to the Memorial of the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in Shanghai. The site, located in the city’s historic French Concession, marks the venue where the CPC held its founding congress in July 1921.

Calling it an honour to visit this historic location, President Zardari commended China’s remarkable rise as a global power. He emphasised that the people of Pakistan deeply admire China’s development model and its pivotal role on the world stage. He reaffirmed that under the visionary leadership of President Xi Jinping, Pakistan–China relations have evolved into a solid all-weather strategic partnership that will continue to expand in the years ahead.

Later, President Zardari and the First Lady met Ms. Hao, Vice President of the China-Africa Chamber of Commerce & Industry. Ms. Hao expressed strong interest in establishing a similar Chamber of Commerce with Pakistan to foster deeper economic ties and business-to-business collaboration. Welcoming the proposal, President Zardari assured Pakistan’s full support, noting that such an initiative would unlock fresh opportunities for trade, investment, and mutual growth between the two nations.
