A Chinese company operating in the Gwadar North Free Zone has received formal clearance to export donkey meat to China after securing approval from the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China (GACC).
According to Gwadar Pro, the company, Hangeng, obtained the export licence following an online inspection conducted by GACC. The inspection evaluated the company’s operational systems, procedures and compliance with regulatory standards set by Chinese authorities.
After successfully fulfilling all licensing requirements, the company is now set to begin exports as early as next week. A Hangeng official told Gwadar Pro that the approval signifies the completion of all mandatory inspections, certifications and regulatory processes required for exporting meat products to China.
The official said the first consignment will be shipped using Hangeng’s facilities within the Gwadar North Free Zone. These include a newly established slaughterhouse that has been specifically developed to meet export standards and facilitate processing for international shipments.
He added that once exports move into a regular cycle, the company plans to ship approximately 50 containers of donkey meat to China every month. The development marks another step forward for industrial and export-oriented activity in the Gwadar Free Zone, highlighting its growing role in facilitating trade between Pakistan and China.
